Five Simple Things (August 30)
Hello.
Here are five things this week.
1. This sun.
We have all been soaking in as much of the sun's rays as we can this week. It wasn't that hot of a summer this year, and we were grateful about that, but once the sun is gone, it a rough winter season to get through before we see the sun again. So this week, any time the sun peeked through the curtains, all of us soaked it in.
2. This balloon.
As I went to spend lunch with Jeff this week this hot air balloon was taking off from one the fields near Interstate 5. It was a cool view over the top of his job site.
3. This day.
Wednesday this week was my birthday; I turned 47. I still feel young mentally and physically. I've started focusing more on keeping my mind and body more active, so that I don't lose mobility as I age. Being a woman over 40 there's a lot of things that are changing slowly as my body gets older. One of the things I've noticed is changes in my hair and skin. It seems to be a lot drier than when I was younger. Active mind and body is a lifelong change, and keeping my skin and hair hydrated is a personal change. These are my focuses over the next year as I push towards age 48 in 2025. We always make each of our birthdays special, and Jeff and Skylar made mine special for me this week. I love the way they care for me, and this birthday was wonderful!
4. This doggy.
Majestic Mr. Farts enjoyed the sun this week, too. He came to get me to let me know he wanted to go outside for a walk, and I was happy to comply.
5. These tacos.
Taco Tuesday, but make it homemade.
One last thing:
Jeff and Skylar did some shopping at Costco this week and one of the things they almost brought home was this golf arcade machine. A Costco shopping trip that would have taken about an hour and a half ended up being three hours. I asked what was taking so long and these are the pictures I receive with a text of, "What do you think?"
Positive affirmations this week:
If one of these describes you, I see you. You are important and you deserve the treatment you give others. Keep being who you are. The world needs more kindness, right now more than ever.
You can do this!🌈
Have a nice weekend.
Five Simple Things (August 23)
Hello.
Here are five things this week.
1. This dish.
Skylar and I love 'Ratatouille' the movie, and because of that he decided to attempt his own version of the dish. Not only is it a pretty dish, but I think he did excellent. The recipe we used was this one, and he replaced the bell peppers and put his own twist on the dish.
2. This run.
Still keeping up the fresh flower vibes weekly.
4. This moon.
August 19 brought a great view of the full moon. This moon was the Sturgeon Moon, a rare Supermoon, and a Seasonal Blue Moon, so it was a special one.
5. This light.
The blue light makes for the perfect scene.
One last thing:
Our Geocache, "For Whom the Bell Tolls" is going strong.
Positive affirmations this week:
Be good to yourself, too.
You can do this!🌈
Have a nice weekend.
Five Simple Things (August 14)
Hello.
Here are five things this week.
1. This screw.
The last screw we removed this week from our bus. We have been steady going with bus conversion and we are pleased with how far we have come. You can follow our progress here and here.
2. This letter.
We received this letter from In-N-Out Burger today and we were floored. We had visited an In-N-Out Burger in Keiser, Oregon, just a week ago and had our order completely wrong. We think they got confused about which car was which and gave us the order for the car behind us. We normally park and use the lap mats and eat in the car. We went to open the bags and realized our order wasn't even our order. We also felt bad for the people whose order it was, because it seemed like meals for kids. We contacted In-N-Out Burger and let them know of the mix-up, so the location could know they were one, or maybe two cars off on orders. What came next was incredible. They were extremely apologetic and not only that, but they felt so bad they sent us three gift cards with a preloaded amount to get three replacement meals, no matter the size. This kind of customer service is what sets In-N-Out Burger apart. We were absolutely shocked at how much they did to make this right. As I type this out, I still can't believe they went this far to keep us as customers. Incredible!
3. This robe.
This set is from IKEA and it is perfect for using while cold plugging. I am excited to put it to use, especially this week.
4. This kitty.
She does love her catnip time.
5. This balm.
Badger is one of my favorite brands and this foot balm has been great for my toes and feet after getting out of the ocean, or wearing open-toed, and open-heeled shoes this summer.
One last thing:
This view always makes me happy. I am so proud of how much Skylar has put into furthering his education. His focus is paleontology right now, but he has talked of focusing on oceanography, and marine science. Whatever path he picks, we will be right there cheering him on the whole way!♥
Positive affirmations this week:
You are strong!
You are brave!
You are healthy!
You are loved!
You are worthy!
You are beautiful!
You are clever!
You are enough!
You can do this!🌈
Have a nice weekend.
