Vintage Christmas Ornament Wreaths

 

What you'll need:

 

Foam Wreath

Tinsel Garland

Hot Temp Glue Gun

Wire Loops

Vintage Ornaments in Random Sizes

 

Instructions:

 

1.Start with extruded foam wreath base and wrap in tinsel-tone garland securing with hot glue.
1.Important to add a wire loop here before preceding.
3.Glue larger ornaments around the outer rim of wreath form.
4.Lay flat and then fill in with smaller ornies.
5.I like to mix up ornies with kitschy little things.
6.Important to use HIGH TEMP hot glue.

Paper Christmas Trees

You will need:

polystyrene cone (from craft stores)
patty pans/cupcake liners (approx 12 for each tree)
sequin pins

Instructions:

You just pin each layer, starting at the bottom. The bottom layers will need two strips, then just cut strips to fit. Each layer overlaps the one below it by approx 1/4 inch to cover the pins. When you get to the top, you cut a complete patty pan in half. Fold that in half again so you have a quarter Bend each side around to form a mini cone shape, pop that on top, and secure with pins ( you could use tape to hold the top together if you prefer). This gives it a nice pointy tip.

 

Eco-Tip:  Instead of throwing out old or broken Christmas ornaments and decorations, consider donating them or repurposing them into something else.  Each year my family and I go through our old decorations and find new sources for them.  For this and other tips on going green visit, The Earth and Me Go Green.

Fluoro Pine Cone Wreath

What you'll need:  

Newspaper

Pine Cones

White Spray Paint

Hot Pink or other bright colored-Spray Paint

Cable Ties (200mm)

Wire Ring

Nail

Scissors

Instructions:  

Lay out newspaper on work surface and spray paint each pine cone with white spray paint, then with the pink spray paint.  Allow to dry and attach each pine cone to the wire ring with the cable ties.  One at the top of the pine cone and one around the bottom of the pine cone.  Cut off any excess tie and attach the wreath to a door or wall with the nail or other hook.  

Eco-Tip:  Be sure and wash clothes with a full load or opt for purchasing a washer that allows you to adjust the water level for load.  For smaller loads use the lowest water setting as to not waste water.  For this and other tips on going green visit, The Earth and Me Go Green.
