Tired of being tired?

Five simple things

Yay for summer!  It's another weekend and yet here we go with what my my week awesome!

1.  These Cookies.

Because we don't buy processed, premade cookies often, but these being Hello Kitty, we just had to do it once.

2.  This Game.

Because Skylar and I like to play Battleship, even if it is in the bathtub.

3.  This Flag.

Because it seemed right and fit nicely on the fence.

4.  This Walk.

Because Baz enjoys the walks and sometimes I let Skylar walk down the street with him.

5.  This Find.

Because we've gotten into Geocaching and this Nano is a hard find.

Extras:

• This Moment.

Because sometimes homework is even necessary during homeschooling too.

• This Crop.

So many cherry tomatoes already and we are super excited!

• This Kitty.

Because she's just sweet.

Five simple things

Another week down and another weekend here!  We had a great week and here are the things that made it awesome!

1.  This Family Day.

Because where the Mr. works they had what's called "Family Day."  We were allowed to come out to his work and tour the facility.  It was a blast!  I am totally a stickler for learning about what he does and although I am not into airplanes, I find what the Mr. does fascinating.  He works in the aerospace industry and all of it is just a big mental wonderland for me.  We had a blast and so grateful they allowed the workers' families to come and take a glimpse at what happens behind closed doors.

2.  This Coke.

Because we aren't Coke drinkers well, we aren't really soda drinkers at all, but I had to share this one with Jeff.

3.  This Chair.

Because we are still on a hunt for some replacement Adirondack chairs and these seem perfect.  Only problem, these are already sold and they won't have more until next year.  :(  We will definitely grab them early next year, for sure, if we don't come across a good deal online in the mean time.

4.  These Ribs.

Because Jeff is one of the best BBQ'ers I know and boy can he BBQ some good ribs and chicken breast.

5.  This List.

Still trying to get used to buying certain things in the organic variety.  I print this list out and take it with me, but sometimes it's hard to buy organic when there isn't a choice in it.  I've gotten to where I change where I buy certain varieties to try to avoid pesticide residue too.  It's a slow process, but it is getting easier as I go.  My next challenge is to eat seasonal.

Extras:

• This Gift Certificate.

Because our pizza was only a few minutes late and we got this as a sorry from the owner.  We weren't even the slightest bit upset and he gave it to us anyway.  Such a great guy and his pizza isn't bad either!  (Actually, it's the best!)

• This Rearranged Furniture.

Because it seems we have one too many couches in the living room now.  What to do, what to do.....

• This Little Snail.

Because reasons.  Cute reasons.

Five simple things

Woooowhooo!  It's the weekend and this Saturday is a day to relax, for sure!  Here are the things that made my week awesome.

1.  This Slurpee.

Because today is actually 7-Eleven Day and you can get a free slurpee at any 7-11 today to celebrate!

2.  This Pool Time.

Because it's been very relaxing and I used the time to pose with my Yogi Surprise Box too.

3.  This Car.

Because we walked out of Shari's Restaurant one night and it was in the parking lot.  It reminded me of when my family was visiting from Arkansas.  I wasn't so much sad as I was laughing about it.  We get to see them soon again.  In October, to be exact,  Super excited!

4.  This Kid.

Because he is always making us laugh and he makes even the darkest days seem brighter.  We love him so!

5.  This Solar Oven.

Because we've been playing around with a lot of experiments in the Red Snail Classroom lately and this solar oven was one of our favorites.

Road Trip: Fourth of July in Newport

We decided to spend Fourth of July over at the coast this year and wow, was it ever a fantastic idea!  We hadn't been the coast since my Arkansas family came to visit in June, so it was a great trip to enjoy the coast and see some fireworks too!

We did a little photo shoot with the American flag while walking along the beach.  The beach front was rather populated because of the Fourth, so we walked a bit down the beach to find a more secluded area.

There was a lot of sea gooseberries along the sand on the beach.  These are always so interesting to me because they are so clear.

Baz always loves going to the coast.  He doesn't walk in the water, but sometimes he will just stand and stare out on the water.  I always wonder what he sees out there that we can't.

The Yaquina Bay Bridge always looks so pretty during the summer months.

As the sun went down the bay front was so bright with light from the sun.  One of the best views is the sun setting in the west.

We had a bite to eat before going out on the jetty to watch the fireworks.  Skylar tried his hand at the Monster Burger at the Newport Cafe.  He gave it his all, but he couldn't quite eat it all.

We ended up sitting at the jetty for a few hours before the fireworks.  We had to get a good parking spot because, surprisingly enough to us, there was a lot more people than we expected.  We decided to see if we could order a pizza from Abby's.

The delivery driver that brought the pizza was super nice.  I couldn't believe how excited he was to bring it to us.  We tipped him pretty good too!

We sat and ate our pizza and watched the fireworks.  It was a pretty neat way to end the night.

We have decided to make this our yearly trip for July 4.

Since we were gone to the coast this year, we missed out on the Brownsville July 4th Breakfast.  Hopefully next year we can eat there before we head over the to coast.

Hope your fourth was just as fun!
